About Me

With over 30 years’ experience with building systems, I go out of my way to protect my home inspection clients’ interests and to make them feel secure. I cover in and around Des Moines Iowa, up to about a 50-mile radius.

I absolutely welcome client participation at the inspection. If the client isn’t able to attend, a detailed phone conversation is essential, and I welcome follow up phone calls to address any questions a client might have.

I've owned my inspection business for almost four years, and I’m a member of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI), a member of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, and I have a certificate from Inspection Training Associates (ITA).

Prior to doing home inspections, I worked many years in commercial real estate and property management. I am also a Licensed Facilities Engineer, and worked with large office buildings’ high pressure boilers and commercial heating, air conditioning, security, and plumbing systems.

I concentrate on single and multi-family properties, commercial, and some industrial real estate. My inspection reports are prepared and sent within 24 hours of my inspections, which typically take a careful 2-3 hours. The reports include digital photographs to illustrate my very detailed descriptions.

My business is independently owned, not a franchise. I have liability and Errors and Omissions insurance. While I don’t offer specialized inspection for mold or moisture, if either is found, I will definitely inform you about it.

What distinguishes me from other inspectors? I’m a licensed facilities engineer intimately familiar with complex building systems. I try hard to make my clients feel comfortable, and welcome questions anytime.

I’m hired as an expert by people who haven’t had my experience, and it’s my job, duty, and pleasure to share my knowledge with them in order to help them with one of the most important decisions of their lives.
